The ATI poly lower BPMS upper AR was sighted in to acceptable placement in about 8 rounds and then I fired a few magazines worth off hand. Nothing amazing about my shot placement, but it was “combat effective” and the firearm functioned flawlessly. So far I’m very happy with how this carbine is coming together.
However I was not very happy with my performance on the new hand gun drill. A coworker showed me a free download target he has been using called “Dot Torture.” It’s a simple series of numbered bullseyes with some instructions for each or each set of bullseyes.
As you work your way through the target, you do different sequences like drawing and firing (or from low ready if your range doesn’t allow drawing), firing at multiple targets, weak hand shooting and reloading between shots. You will fire a total of fifty shots to complete the target. For each shot placed in the bullseyes you are awarded a point with the best possible score of fifty.
This is a great drill for someone who doesn’t have the time or money to fire hundreds of rounds downrange. With just one box of target ammo, you get a good work out on the fundamentals.
