Doing the same online acts that shows your friend that you like a picture of their cat won’t do much to protect your rights. We all need to join and financially support pro-gun organizations such as Gun Owners of America, National Association for Gun Rights, National Rifle Association, and the Second Amendment Foundation.
I personally am an active supporter of the NRA. Many gun owners have mixed feeling about the NRA, but love them or hate them they are our biggest voice. Besides renewing my membership every three years, I donate to some of their pledge mailing they send out and donate a few bucks at checkout when I but from some online retailers such as Cheaper Than Dirt and Brownells.
The latest NRA form letters I will be mailing. |
To be honest, some of those numbers really bother me. The NRA is the biggest gun rights group out there and they currently have around 5 million members and there are roughly 80 million firearm owners in the United States. In a time when the anti-gunners are aggressively trying to enact gun control laws across the country, only about 6% of firearm owners are members of the NRA.
