Welcome to the Sioux Scout website

Welcome to the Sioux Scout website
The Sioux Scout website is a place to find fun and informative content ranging from the outdoors in general, hiking & camping on one end, and self reliance & preparedness on the other. The goal is to show just how much those two cultures have in common. A Prepper can learn a lot from a Hiker and vise versa.

We are all about having a positive focused mindset, having the right gear and the know how to work the two together for whatever adventure lays ahead.

It's time to call this what it really is: segregation.

McGinn asking Seattle businesses to go ‘gun-free’ | Local News | The Seattle Times

Today the above article was brought to my attention and to be honest, I find it disturbing. The Mayor of Seattle is pushing for business to put up "gun free" signs.

Now if a business owner is really that scared of people who carry, fine they can put up a sign. I will never understand the logic behind it. I have yet to hear of a person with a CCW permit go on a shooting spree. But apparently some people think the common criminal and the gangbangers go thorugh the proper paperwork and training to get a CCW before they use a gun to commit a crime.

What disturbs me about this it the fact that a local government body is actively trying to keep people who responsibly exercise their Constitutional Rights out of private businesses. They are doing this for no reason but fear of what they don't understand and refuse to educate themselves on.

Let's just call this what it is; segregation. If the ALCU really cared about all American's civil liberties, they would be suing the City of Seattle right now.

That may sound extreme to you, it sounds extreme to me too but what else is it? The Mayor of Seattle is pushing private businesses to not serve potential customers simply because they are doing something that is protected by the 2nd Amendment of the United States Constitution.

People who are afraid of the Armed Citizen have their fears focused on the wrong demographic. The person they need to fear is the common criminal, not the person who is trying to protect themselves from the common criminal.

It concerns me to see that the anti-gunners in government are trying to ban Armed Citizens from entering places of business. While ignoring facts and logic, they creating laws and push policies that will not make anyone safer. It concerns me that responsible firearm owners, with a clean criminal record, who past background checks and training, are being discriminated against for no other reason than they have a gun. It's time to call this what it really is: segregation.
