MLB will require all parks to have metal detectors by 2015

Well per the above article, it looks like this upcoming summer will be the last time I make a trip to Target Field or Miller Park for a baseball game. Even if I was an anti-gunner, this new policy would keep me from attaining a Major League Baseball game.

Just the fact that now 20 to 40 thousand people will be digging change out of their pockets and taking off belts to pass through the gates within a short period of time. You'll have to show up to the game four hours before the opening pitch. Not to tailgate, just to check in. It will be a nightmare.

I guess it's just the times we live in. I mean, with all those baseball stadium shootings we've had lately. What? There hasn't been? Weird.

My prediction is if this policy is enforced, by 2017 MLB will be scratching their heads on why attendance is at an all time low. Personal stance on the 2nd Amendment and gun control aside, I don't see a lot of people willing to go through the screening process for every game. Especially when the sports bars have cheaper beer and better wings.
